Micranthemum Micranthemoides

The plant species Micranthemum Micranthemoides otherwise known as Hemianthus Micranthemoides often grows in the moist areas (banks of river) or in ponds in its natural habitat (West Indies and United States). The creepy emersed plant has slender stems on which 3-4 narrowly lanceolate leaves (less than 1 CM long) in whorls and can grow only about 0.5 CM in height. The submerged plant produce erect stems which can grow up to 15 CM in the aquarium. The lime green foliage is very decorative and should be trimmed often to keep its bushy form.
