Echinodorus argentinensis is closely allied to Echinodorus grandiflorus. It can grow up to 4meter long in its natural habitat. The leaves can grow up to 2.5meter tall. The leaf blade, which is broadly lanceolate with pointed tip and cordate base has characteristic pellucid (membranous) lines. This plant never produces permanently submersed leaves. This species can easily cross with Echinodorus Longiscapus and hybrids with various characters can be produced. A good candidate for temperature ponds as it can tolerate low temperature.
